Different Dimensions is a Twitter RP family. All RP takes place on Twitter. This site is for listing fandoms, members and the rules of conduct. You must join Dreamwidth and this Community to be included in the family. DW is free. You only need one DW account, but you must have a separate Twitter for each character. You must be at least 18 years old to join the family. We are including some older fandoms as well as new to provide RP orphans a place to connect with other fans of those shows. We encourage crossover RP between fandoms.
At Different Dimensions you will not be told who you can RP. The choice of a character should be up to the player. We encourage you to find the right muse for your creativity. RP is about your enjoyment, not about us (or anyone) filling out a cast list.
In other words: Just because the Supernatural group wants a Dean, that doesn't mean that you have to play a Dean. You might feel more comfortable playing Chuck or Cass.
If you can't figure out what character to RP, you may not be ready to take up the hobby. Give yourself time to find the right fit.

The Rules:
1 - You must have a Twitter account for your character. Please include a link to our website in your profile.
2 - You must be over 18.
3 - There may be up to 5 people RPing the same character, but each one must have something special to make him different from the rest. Season breaks count for this. For example a Season One Peter Petrelli is very different from a Season Four Peter Petrelli. A Violet Harmon who didn't kill herself would be very different from canon Violet who did. The book Dexter is different from the TV Dexter.
4 - RP is not just about being a couple and having sex. If that's all you want to do with your character, find another family to join. Our RP family wants to explore their characters and tell stories.
5 - We don't mind if you RP outside of the family. We also don't mind if you use the same Twitter account for multiple games/verses/families, but please make sure that your other group is OK with that too.
6 - No Drama. If you are causing trouble, or if another group member is causing you drama, report to the Mods. Leave a message on the HELP entry. The mods will be notified, and the situation will be evaluated. There is a 3 strikes rule in effect. If you cause Drama or stress 3 times you will be banned/blocked/fired.
7 - Stay in character. Keep your out of character tweets to your RL twitter. If you must Tweet OOC, use the #ooc tag or put your tweet in double parenthesis. For Example: ((My dog needs to go outside.))
8 - Be nice to your RP Partners. If you have to leave, tell them. Do not just vanish.
9 - Staying active. If you haven't been RPing for 7 days, and someone else wants your character, you will be recast unless you leave a message with the mods on the HELP entry.
10 - You do not have to follow everyone in the family. You will need to follow the group's OFFICIAL TWITTER for announcements, and in case we need to send you a DM.
11 - You should follow everyone in your fandom.
12 - Stay In Character and have fun. No God Modding. No altering a character until they might as well be an OC.
13 - Original Characters - Please try to find a canon character to RP. The mods are not fans of OCs.
14 - These rules are subject to change.
